Historyman Comics presents a graphic novel set during Revolutionary War times in South Carolina. Each novel is inspired by historical record. In Unlikely Heroes, the Martin family homestead is situated between two British outposts (Augusta, GA and Ninety-Six, South Carolina.) When the Patriot Army lays siege to both in May of 1781 the Martin women get word that a British messenger is coming through the area. They are determined to do something about it.

- Middle: a map and timeline of American Revolution incidents. The highlighted battles are detailed throughout the series.
- Centerfold: Some of the main characters in each book on both Patriot & British sides.
- Inside back cover: A Footsteps of Heroes section highlighting someone associated with the story followed by several resources.
